True West tells the story of two estranged brothers, Austin and Lee, who are reunited in their mother’s suburban California home. Over the course of the play, the brothers’ relationship becomes increasingly volatile as they confront their own failures and resentments. True West is a darkly comedic exploration of the American Dream, sibling rivalry, and the nature of identity. It was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1983.
