Synopsis. The tragic comedy kicks off GCTs 56th season themed "Fun & Fantasy." Crimes of the Heart tells the story of the three Magrath sisters, Meg, Babe, and Lenny, who reunite at Old Granddaddy's home in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, after Babe shoots her abusive husband. The sisters were raised in a dysfunctional family with a penchant for ugly predicaments. Warm-hearted, irreverent, zany and brilliantly imaginative, the play teems with humanity and humor as it examines the plight of three young Mississippi sisters.

What's Interesting: Carol Rice has directed Crimes of the Heart many times since acting in it in college. She directs the show about once every 10 years. It's near and dear to her heart. Garland Civic Theatre is excited to have Carol direct for us, but we're even more excited to have her direct a passion project.
