The 22+ Weddings of Hugo Multiple

Teatro Dallas announces the world premiere of

The 22+ Weddings of Hugo Multiple

written and directed by Teatro Dallas’ new Artistic Executive Director, Gustavo Ott

Teatro Dallas is thrilled to announce the world premiere of The 22+ Weddings of Hugo Multiple written and directed by Gustavo Ott. This new production promises to be warm and thought-provoking, based on a true story.

Why in the world does Hugo, a simple postal clerk, keep getting married so many times? The 22+ Weddings of Hugo Multiple is based on the true tale of a "beautiful crime.” A humorous story that delves into hidden themes of our day, from empathy and immigration, to love in times of hatred, and our common need to find refuge. A refuge that is not only a place, but a person and a feeling. The 22+ Weddings of Hugo Multiple won the 2018 Marius Gottin Award for non-Francophone plays from the Écriture Théâtrale Contemporaine Caraïbe. This production by Teatro Dallas will be its world premiere.
