NTPA Repertory presents
Evita
The one and only Evita – Winner of 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical and 6 Drama Desk Awards - composed by the incomparable team of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
Set in Argentina between 1934-1952, the award-winning musical follows Eva Duarte on her journey from poor illegitimate child to ambitious actress to, as wife of military leader turned president Juan Peron, the most powerful woman in Latin America.
Notable songs from Evita include “Buenos Aires” and, of course, “Don’t Cry for me Argentina.” Evita’s Broadway success included over 1500 performances and inspired a feature film starring Madonna and Antonio Banderas in 1996 which won an 1997 Academy Award for Best Original Song, “You must love me” and a 1997 Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.
