Amid a dark storm, two people – a lone motorist and a beautiful, extremely pregnant hitchhiker – find each other. The motorist offers a haven and takes the hitchhiker home, where she seems to cast a spell over him and his brother, who arrived unexpectedly on military leave. Academy Award-nominated writer José Rivera crafts a tale of magical realism set in apocalyptic times.
