Mila Vincent, Dallas' youngest theater critic, was only four when she saw and reviewed her very first show, Cats, at The Firehouse Theatre in 2019. Now nine years, old, Mila has since reviewed theater all over Dallas-Fort Worth, but The Firehouse Theatre holds a special place in her heart. She was thrilled to return to review Annie, which she had never seen before. This time, in addition to bringing her co-reviewing grandmother, Johannah Luza, she brought her six-year-old sister, Avivah, who sang all the way home.

Mila: It was so much fun  going back to The Firehouse Theatre! I got to see the performance of Annie! I didn't know anything about the story so it was all new to me!

Annie was a little girl who was an orphan. She lived in a house with other girls who were orphans and a mean lady who took care of them. She thought her mom and dad would come back to get her someday. Then, Oliver Warbucks (Keegan Arnold), a really rich man came along and invited her to spend the week of Christmas at his house. He had maids and everything. They all liked Annie. She liked them too but she still thought her parents would  come someday to get her. It's a surprise ending. You should definitely go see it and take your kids and grandkids.

The girl who played Annie was Eliza Chabot.  She was great!  I don't know how she remembered all those songs she sang!  I don't think I could do that. My little sister had to come along and she kept trying to sing the songs.  One song was called "Tomorrow."  Another song was "It's a Hard Knock Life."  My sister sang that all the way home.  We both just loved the whole play. And guess what?  One of the cast members, Ruby Chabot,  was my babysitter once! And Annie was her little sister. It's fun when you know someone in the play. Please go see it. You'll love it! And you'll probably sing all the way home.

Johannah: We always love The Firehouse Theatre. They're so friendly and welcoming.  I too was amazed at Eliza Chabot's character.  I think that little girl will be a star someday.  There wasn't a dull moment in the production and it was the perfect show for every age!  The theatre was full so get your tickets now. Great way to start the Christmas holidays!
